Weather and climate

We had to Scan threw web-sites to find some information about Antarctica while reading a range of text the first thing we did was went to the antarctic centre to learn more about it then we came back to school to pick our groups to see what group.

Weather and climate
Antarctica has one of the most rapped wind speeds in the world. Also one of the coldest places in the world.

In Antarctica there are many different jobs you can get like being a scientist,  a cook, a cleaner and lots of other jobs you can get. It would be good to go down there to get a job and see the animals. You don't need a job to go down there you could be a tourist.

Down in Antarctica the water is fresh and one of the driest places in the world. Some people call it the white continent because their is pure white all you see is white. Did you know that Antarctica is a desert because it does not rain what would you call it I call it Antarctica.

In Antarctica the people have to were a top a long sleeve a jersey also a jacket warm socks a beanie some gloves and also goggles and on top of that you need to carry all the supplies. The boots would be the heaviest because there is a little metal part at the bottom of the shoe and then you have the part were you put your foot in.

I like Antarctica because  of the animals because I find it fascinating because of how they find a way to survive in Sub-Zero Temperatures, And also like the icebergs did you know that 90% of the icebergs are underwater

Fun In The Snow

The first thing we did was learn about Antarctica then put down some notes that we wanted to learn about and put them were they fit in your story the first thing we did was went to the antarctic centre to learn more about it then we came back to school to pick our groups to see what group.

Fun In The Snow
Antarctica is the coldest continent and the whitest place you can go. It is dry, also a desert because it does not rain if it did that would be horrible.

If you go there you will need a few layers on because if you have one layer you will freeze like a ice block. In Antarctica you will see nothing but white because of the snow for metres you will see just snow. You will hear wind whooshing around like a hurricane  all day you might be able to survive. You will see 17 species of penguins, 6 species of whale, 6 species of seal the live in Antarctica and 46 different types of bird.

I like Antarctica because  of the animals because I find it fascinating because of how they find a way to survive in Sub-Zero Temperatures, And also I like the vehicles that they use in Antarctica because if you took a normal car across the tyres would get stuck. But if you take a snow vehicles out there then you will not get stuck.

Leaf Insect

First we had to do some research about it first then we had to find out the parts of an information report and here is my story

Leaf Insect
Is a leaf with legs
What is that? There, is it a leaf? no it's an insect, it's an leaf insect.  Did you know that somewhere out there is a leaf with legs?

What do they eat
There are many types of leaf insects, so some of them eat differently. Some eat dark berries and raspberries and others eat leaves. If I was a leaf insect, I would prefer to eat berries more than leaves.

Leaf insect habitat
Leaf insects live in Bushes and  tree leaves so that they can eat their surroundings and also so they can hide when predators are around they can easily use their camouflage to hide themselves.

The life Cycle
The life cycle goes the egg, then the egg hatches and out comes the larvae, and in a few weeks time it will turn into the pupa. And in a few more weeks time it will be a young and healthy leaf insect.

Why I like them
I like them because they have a way to stay away from predators and to camoflague like the surroundings that's cool.

Our Audience 2

We are learning to create a positive digital footprint.

We often share personal information when we are online. The people we share with could be our friends and family or people we don't know. We need to make smart decisions about what personal information we share online.

Did you know in New Zealand there are lots of different stick insect one is smooth like a leaf. The other two one is spiky like a thorn bush and the last one is rough like a branch.
