Trip To Orana Park

On Monday my class was accompanied by Bh to go to the Orana Wildlife Park  for the whole day we where supposed to depart the school at 8:45 but then we ended up leaving at like 9:45 almost than when we ended getting there at like 10 because it was sort of a long drive when we got there we ended meeting up with a worker there named Bethany I think then we walked around for like 2 minutes then we seen a Meerkat 

Then we walked around for a minute or two seen some farm animals like a Turkey we did not stop we continued walking towards the spider monkeys but they were not out because it was too windy when we had got there so the animals had to stay inside and wait until the wind went down a little so then we went to see the reptiles and it was like a game because we had to find the Gecko's and Tuatara because they were some were staying in their little houses because it was not the right weather for them to come out 

Then we walked out and then we went to go and see the Spider Monkey's inside the enclosure and they all wanted to go outside because they waited at the door for the Zookeeper to open it then we walked off and went over and see some Emu and then seen some farm animals like a huge black rabbit we also saw two pigs.

 

We saw some Lions at the Zoo and they were huge but at the same time they smelt really bad then the lady said that most of the carnivore's smell. I had two favourite animals that I saw and they were the Gorillas because they are big and they just look cool and the other animal would have to be the Meerkats because they look cute my favourite thing that we did was feeding the giraffes.

The Shoes Perspective writing 

Well I am at school my shoes come alive and they could go to the supermarket and some times there is dog poo on my shoes and I wonder why because I never wear those shoes. One day before school it was a mufti day and I put the warehouse shoes on my feet because that is where they go and then they spoke to me and they said "Oi please don't take me because Tyler's shoes said his feet smell" then I said that they had to deal with it and that I was taking them because I did not want to wear my school shoes on a mufti day. Then when I went to my P.E class I took of my shoes for like 1 and a half hours and in that time they went to the shoe wash, got all the dog poo off and then even got dry met up with some other shoe and got shoe spray with a side of nothing. then it got back just in time for me to put them back on. So what do your shoes get up to when you are not wearing them?

Dear future me

In philosophy this term we are making time capsules and we wrote a letter about now and in the future with thing about me like who are our friends, the price of stuff, What we like to do, our favourite sites and stuff, favourite singers movies games and sport.

I can not wait to be reading this in year 13 when I am 17 years old  

The Pigeon and the Walrus

This week we have been writing learning about opinion writing and we were reading books to choose from and they were Don't let the pigeon stay up ate, Don't let the pigeon drive the bus, The pigeon needs a bath and the pigeon wants a puppy that is the one I am doing.

The pigeon wants a walrus

“Wow! does that pigeon really want that walrus? Well I think he should have a chance to get a walrus to call his own.”

I think that the pigeon should get a walrus because it could be a really good body guard to protect the pigeon from the predators. But only the ones that want to try and eat the pigeon. Also the pigeon could train the walrus to call the other walrus to help the the bigger predators. For more help when the predators move into the neighbourhood. The predators might try to have a quick snack of KFP also known as Kentucky Fresh Pigeon.

If the pigeon wanted an excuse to get a bigger house. So that he could fit the walrus in the house so that the walrus feels comfortable. Also the walrus would need tons of room to lay down the the pigeon could get more and more walrus’s. So that he could have a second excuse to buy an even bigger house. The best is that the owner of the pigeon has to worry about the money problem.

If the pigeon were smart and I think that he is not he would make a…. Walrus army. To take down the predator and make the city predator freeeee. The pigeon could pick any of the house from a Big house to a  small house. Even though the pigeon has a small brain he could still notice which house is better for a walrus a baby could tell which house to pick.

In the end the pigeon could be a good friend and help the pigeon the pigeon could convince others to get a walrus.

Te Manutukutuku poem

we made a poem about our new school what we could hear see smell and touch this was also the first post at the new school

I hear the kids laughing and playing with their friends. I see a shining sun on the hottest day . I smell the freshness of the newly placed carpet with the fresh smell of flowers.when I walked in to touched the smooth glossy tables delicately and it felt like my hand was going down a slide. I feel good about this new school because it is amazing to look at from the outside but from the inside it is even better.

Making Mr Bread

This week we made bread then we ate it the next day we made some instruction

materials:

• 500g flour
• 7g yeast
• 300ml Water
• 3 Tablespoons of olive oil
• 2 teaspoons of salt
• Bowls
• Scales ( For measuring)

Steps:

1. Put 500g of flour into a bowl
2. The put 7g of yeast
3. Make a well in the middle (A whole)
4. Add 300ml to water to the well
5. Then add 2 tablespoons of olive oil
6. Now add 2 Teaspoons of salt to the mix
7. Need it till it i stuck together
8. Put it in a place where it is warm for about 1 hour
9. Then knock it back and roll it and shape it and wait for an 1 hour
10. The let it rise and once it has doubled in size put it in the oven
11. Cook for 25-30 mins
12. Now eat

Method

• Washed hands
• Measured out ingredients
• Place into blender
• Blend until smooth and sticky
• Spoonfuls into hands
• Roll into balls
• Roll into Cocoa or coconut

Raisin Bliss Balls

Have you ever wondered, “What do I need to make a raisin bliss ball?” Well it´s easy all you need is a blender, spoons, Plates, Measuring cups and bowls. Now to the Ingredients all you will need is  Raisins, Cocoa, Coconut, Oats and coconut oil.

Then do you wonder, ¨What do I need to do to make them?¨ First wash your hands measure the ingredients into a bowl so it is all even. Then place the ingredients into the blender. Once you do that you need to blend until smooth and wet so it sticks together.

After that, scoop it out and put one scoop into your hands and roll them into balls Tip (a ball is round).

Then you have the choice to either dip it in Coconut bits or Cocoa. I chose coconut bits because it stayed on when I rolled it.

Then eat.....Yummy!

Summer Poem

The Best Toppy Teammy Ever

The Best Toppy Teammy Ever

On The 21st of November we had top team and it is a fun activities that we have to do. The kids in my group were   Matthew.M, Andre, Emily.R, Harmony, Kahn and Me. 

Top team is when you have to do a bunch of activities and they are so fun and earn and earn points but the challenges get hard then some easy. And the best thing was for me was the part when we got wet. And my favourite activities were the one when you had to act like a car and push the red belt. and my second favourite one was map hop.

And in the end my top favourite things were that we could run over to the buckets after and tip them on your-self. And another thing was that we could slide in the puddle and when we did one of the  activities I slipped over in a puddle. And the best thing was we won in a draw with another team with a score of 335.

Persuasive Barktastic Buddy

We have been learning how to write a persuasive piece of writing. We had to convince Miss McLeod to either get a Cat or a Dog. I chose to persuade Miss McLeod to get a Dog. This is my persuasive writing. I had to use persuasive words and phrases that were convincing. I learnt how to write a persuasive piece of writing. I enjoyed writing the story.

Barktastic Buddy

Did you Know that a dog can save your life. I think that Miss McLeod should buy a dog because you can play with dogs. Also dogs are loyal to their owners dogs can warn you when intruders are around.

Firstly I think Miss McLeod should get a dog because you can play with them. You can also take them to the park to play fetch and they can find lots of more friends. Other ways you can play with your dogs are you can play chase or you can make your dog chase their own tail.

Secondly Dogs can be very loyal to their owner and they. Also dogs are like man's best friend. Dogs provide friendship and that will mean that your dog will protect you. Also when you get home from work or a friends house dogs will always be excited to see you because your dog loves you. And when they see you they will jump up on you and try and lick your face and wag their tails and bark happily.

Finally you are sleeping your dog will bark to warn you because dogs bark when intruders are around or in your house so they are very protective. Also dogs can sense when a earthquake is coming so you need to listen to your dog because they could save your life and they are very protective.

Overall I think that Miss McLeod Should get a pet dog because they are loyal to their owner, and you can play with them and take them to the park. Also your dog will warn you if intruders are around or even in your house.

Now run walk or drive all the way to your local pet store and demand your Barktastic buddy right now.  

Red Sentences/Learning

In writing I have been learning about how to write a simple and compound sentence.
A sentence needs to have a capital letter at the start and a full stop at the end but the most important thing is the words.
A compound sentence is when you join two sentences together with the word "and" but the most important thing in a sentence is for it to make sense.

Kiwi can Recount

Kiwi Can Recount

On Monday my inquiry group went to Kiwi Can, that is a little activity about our values, and it is fun.

First we went to the hall we got introduced to our new leader Nathan. He replaced Riki because now he works at Hornby High. Next Katie told us to chuck a balloon into the air and call out someone's name. Nathan picked me to go first and I picked Levi.

And then Suddenly I dropped the balloon and I was out whoops I forgot to say what a energizer is it is like a game to get you pumped and moving. After that we were told to play a game where you can throw a bean bag into a hoop from cones further and further till you get to the last cone.

And in the end we did our G.K.Q I think that I know what it means now because Mrs McLeod just told me it means general knowledge questions and I know how to play. And  all you have to do is so one of the leaders will ask a question then first one to answer it correct wins. Last of all we did our points and I will not tell you how much we got because it is a mystery. The points are for how good you have been for your inquiry teacher so they will give you a number out of 4. And one of the leaders will give you a score out of 6 and the other will give you out of 10. And that's kiwi can it is pretty FUN goodbye The end.

White chocolate writing

We got told by Mrs Mcguinniety to taste chocolate but first we had to go threw our five senses look in my story con you guess what it is

Attempt 1 At writing today  something exciting happened Mrs McGuinniety Brought chocolate for us to taste,smell,feel,see and hear. When Mrs McGuinniety told us to listen to her opening it and I heard cracking and wrinkling of the wrapping paper unleashing the gooey white chocolate.  But when she snapped it I had a good idea what it would sound like it sounded like this SNAP!! And CRACK!!. Then she handed it out and told us to feel it and it felt like a smooth creamy brick it felt amazing. But it was making me feel like I wanted to eat it now but I knew that I couldn't eat it because it was for writing. And after we felt it we got told to look at it for a while and then describe what we see I saw a white smooth,creamy,gooey,block of chocolate it looked like what I imagine heaven looks like but better. Soon we were at taste but we weren't we were at smell It smelt like a smoothie mixed with milk and cream because it was it was so good I couldn’t wait to taste so I waited patiently till it was time for taste. Then it was time to start tasting and as soon as I got told to eat it but don’t bite it I was straight into it instead of biting it I sucked on it for a long time it took a long time but I was finally finished it the we described it it tasted like Heaven but better than better it was awesome I just wanted more and more that's how good it was. I couldn’t wait until our next experiment I wonder what it will be.
